Important Information

Fire Alarm – if the alarm sounds, immediately leave the property and head to the meeting point at the boundary of the property with the main road (the front driveway). The code to turn off the alarm is: 3647.

If the Fire Alarm is a false alarm (please check all rooms accordingly), input the code into the fire alarm panel and press ‘reset / ok’ to turn off the alarm.

The AOV (Automatic Opening Vent) at the top of the stairs needs to be reset also on most occasions. The AOV will make a continuous beeping noise until it is reset. This can be done by pressing the reset button on the lower orange panel immediately next to the front door.

Side Gate Access The code is 8885. You have to change the padlock to this code and then press the button under the padlock to release the lock.

WiFi – we have 5 networks to choose from within the house. Choose the fastest network based on your location within the property. The fastest network is usually the 5GHz network. 2 Networks are repeated from the Loft repeater (Characters ‘LT’ in the name). 2 Networks are repeated from the Ground Floor repeater (Characters ‘GF’ in the name). The main network can be also used whilst you are in the lounge and kitchen.

TV – you can connect to the normal Freeview services from this TV via the remote control (top right button). Please sign in to your chosen service (such as iPlayer) accordingly and sign out when finished.

CCTV – we have 2 cameras that record and store pictures on to an onsite hard drive. In the event of a crime, you can obtain a Crime number from the police and the police can request access to the footage if needed. Footage is only stored for a limited number of days before being overwritten and there if no guarantee that we can always retrieve footage. FYI – We generally can’t promise to spend time looking for footage just for a minor disagreements that doesn’t involve a crime.

Kitchen Cleaning – a cleaner will attend on a regular weekly basis to keep shared areas clean.

Drains – Endeavor to keep the drains clear to anything other human waste and toilet paper. If there is a problem with the drains, then immediately use the contact form on this website. Do not flush down the toilet anything other than toilet paper. Do not place any other type of paper, any condoms or feminine hygiene products in the toilet.

Storage – If you require extra storage space, please request to view our garden storage units via the contact form on this website, these are available for monthly hire.

Parking – We have 2 car parking bays available to reserve at the front of the property. Please only park at the front of the property if you have a reserved space. If you wish to park a Motorbike at the front of the property, please request this via the contact form on this website.

Cycle Storage – The storage units in the rear garden can fit up to 3 cycles in each and are recommended for cycle storage. Do not leave bicycles in common areas either inside or outside the house or in the garden or along the side passage.

Hot Water / Central Heating – If you have any problems with the hot water, please report it via the contact form of this website. The hot water can be controlled remotely and may need to be refined throughout the year as usage patterns change.

Post Box – All letters goes into the postbox on the side wall at the front of the property.  Please check daily and remove you mail. There is an extra post box key on the window sill of the Kitchen if you have not been given one.

Vacuum Cleaner & Other Cleaning Equipment – In the cupboard under the stairs  (which opens into the lounge) there is ‘Hetty’ Vacuum.  Please ensure there is a bag in the machine AND the filter is in place before you use it (refer to this manual if you are not sure:  https://www.argos-support.co.uk/instruction-manual/5654839-hetty-het-160-11-bagged-cylinder-vacuum-cleaner.pdf)

This Vacuum is a lot more effective and reliable than Dysons and the equivalent.  As long as you ensure the filter and bag are in place,  you should never have problems with it.

Kitchen Cupboard / Fridge Space –  there is enough kitchen cupboard space for 2 cupboards each.  Please take up space across half of 1 fridge and freezer.   If there is a problem with lack of space,  due to unknown food being left (perhaps by a previous tenant),  ask fellow tenants and as a last resort please use the contact form on the website and we will assist.

Kitchen Bins –  If they appear full or are starting to smell,  then if you don’t mind please help out and remove them to the outside bins.  New bin liners are provided and usually are left on the window sill near the cleaners items.

Radiators –  These need to be bled at the beginning of each Autumn and sometimes in January to release any air built up in the system.  Especially on the 3rd Loft floor.  Please ask Adrian to bleed your radiator if either it does not get hot,  or it is noisy  (dripping or bubbling noises).
